Rob Schmitt got it exactly right when he called Washington D.C. a crime-ridden dump. This is supposed to be the heart of American democracy, but instead it has become a dangerous wasteland. Our tax dollars flow into this city every single day, yet regular folks can barely walk the streets safely.
The numbers don’t lie about how bad things really are in our nation’s capital. D.C. has a crime rate more than twice the national average, making it one of the most dangerous places in America. In 2023 alone, the city saw 274 murders, which was the highest number in twenty years.
Sure, some politicians want to celebrate that crime dropped a bit in 2025 compared to last year. But this is like celebrating that your house is only half on fire instead of completely burning down. The damage has already been done to countless American families.
Think about how backwards this whole situation really is. We send billions of our hard-earned money to Washington every year through taxes. Yet the very place where our government operates has become a playground for criminals and thugs.
Meanwhile, the elite politicians and bureaucrats live in their fancy neighborhoods with private security. They don’t have to worry about getting robbed or attacked on their way to work. It’s the regular working people who suffer while the swamp creatures stay safe and comfortable.
This mess didn’t happen by accident, and it didn’t happen overnight. Decades of failed liberal policies have turned our capital into exactly what you’d expect from Democrat leadership. They care more about protecting criminals than protecting innocent Americans.
The worst part is that these same failed leaders want to run the entire country. If they can’t even keep their own backyard safe, how can we trust them with our national security. It’s time for real change, not more empty promises from the Washington establishment.
Every American should be outraged that our nation’s capital has become such a dangerous place. We deserve leaders who actually care about public safety instead of just talking points. The people who built this great country deserve so much better than this disgrace.
