The real kicker is that young people between 18 and 49 have completely abandoned his show. They’re smart enough to see through his phony act and find better entertainment on YouTube and podcasts. Why watch some bitter liberal whine about politics when you can get real laughs elsewhere.
Colbert thought he could make a career out of Trump Derangement Syndrome but that strategy backfired spectacularly. Americans want entertainment not endless political lectures from Hollywood elites. His constant attacks on conservative values turned off millions of potential viewers.
The New York Post exposed the truth that CBS won’t admit publicly. They’re dumping Colbert because he became a financial disaster and a political headache. When you’re losing money and making executives uncomfortable, your days are numbered in television.
This is what happens when you put woke politics ahead of good comedy. Colbert forgot that his job was to make people laugh, not push liberal propaganda. The free market spoke loud and clear by changing the channel.
The Late Show will end in May 2026 and good riddance to bad rubbish. Maybe CBS will learn their lesson and hire someone who actually respects American values.
