Another senseless attack has rocked America, this time targeting innocent children at prayer in Minneapolis. On August 27th, a deranged gunman opened fire at Annunciation Catholic Church during morning Mass, killing two young students and wounding 18 others. The victims were just 8 and 10 years old, sitting peacefully in church pews when evil struck.
The shooter, identified as 23-year-old Robin Westman, used three different firearms to carry out this horrific act before taking his own life. These weapons were all purchased legally, proving once again that criminals will always find ways to harm others regardless of laws. The attack happened during the first week of school as families gathered for Mass to start the year.
Fourteen of the wounded victims were children between ages 6 and 14, while three elderly parishioners in their 80s were also hurt. These innocent kids should have been safe in God’s house, not running for their lives from a madman. Their families will never be the same after this tragedy that should never have happened.
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey immediately jumped on his political soapbox instead of focusing on the victims. He pushed his anti-gun agenda while these families were still grieving their losses. This is exactly what liberals always do when tragedy strikes – they use dead children to push their failed policies.
The left has spent years filling unstable minds with hatred and rage through their constant fear-mongering. They pump dangerous rhetoric into every corner of society and then act shocked when violence erupts. Their divisive politics and attacks on traditional values create the very chaos they claim to oppose.
Law enforcement responded quickly and bravely to stop this monster, but the damage was already done. Police have increased patrols around schools and churches, but that should not be necessary in a civilized society. We need leaders who will protect our communities, not politicians who exploit tragedies for votes.
