Charity Shuttered: Hollywood Drama Forces Businessman to Choose Safety

Steve Sarowitz, a successful businessman, made the tough decision to shut down his Wayfarer Foundation. This charity helped many good causes until it suddenly closed its doors. The shutdown happened because of scary threats and a messy legal fight involving famous actors.

Mr. Sarowitz built his fortune by founding Paylocity and other companies. He started the Wayfarer Foundation to help nonprofits and spread kindness based on his Baháʼí faith. For years, this foundation gave money to groups doing important work across America.

Trouble began when actress Blake Lively sued Sarowitz and his business partner Justin Baldoni. She accused Baldoni of bad behavior during a movie project and claimed Sarowitz bankrolled attacks against her. Both men strongly denied these accusations in court.

Things took a dark turn when strangers threatened Sarowitz and his family. They demanded money and mentioned his daughter by name. These frightening threats came right to his home, putting his loved ones in real danger.

Facing these dangers, Sarowitz and his foundation’s board chose safety first. They voted unanimously to shut down the charity immediately. The threats literally forced a good man to stop his charitable work for others.

Nonprofits that counted on Wayfarer money were left scrambling. Years of planned help vanished overnight because of false accusations and criminal threats. Honest charities became victims in this Hollywood drama.

This sad situation shows how lies and threats can destroy good works. One person’s false claims wrecked a charity helping thousands. Patriots know we must protect our families first when danger comes.

Though the foundation closed, Sarowitz promises to keep helping others personally. A true American won’t let bullies stop him from doing what’s right for his community.
