Canada Waves White Flag in Trade War as Carney Crumbles Under Trump

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney just threw in the towel on his country’s failed trade war against America. After months of tough talk and empty threats, Canada quietly dropped most of its counter-tariffs against the United States on Monday. This is what happens when you try to go toe-to-toe with President Trump.

Remember when Carney promised to fight back with tariffs that would cause maximum pain in America? He bragged about targeting Republican states like Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania with special punishment tariffs. Canadian officials thought they were so clever, trying to hurt Trump supporters where it would sting the most.

But Trump never blinked. He kept America’s tariffs in place and even raised them to 35 percent last month. While other countries were too scared to stand up to Canada, President Trump showed real leadership and called their bluff.

Now Carney is desperately trying to save face after his humiliating defeat. He flew to Washington hat in hand, begging Trump for a meeting at the White House. The weak Canadian leader had to sit there and listen while Trump told him to stop the foolish talk about making Canada the 51st state.

Canada’s surrender came with a pathetic six-month pause on some tariffs and special deals for their struggling businesses. They even created something called the Large Enterprise Tariff Loan Facility to help Canadian companies that got crushed by Trump’s tough trade policies. That tells you everything about who really won this fight.

Carney tried to spin his defeat as somehow re-establishing free trade between the countries. But everyone knows the truth – Canada got steamrolled by America First policies and had no choice but to back down. Their retaliatory tariffs hurt Canada more than they hurt us.

This is exactly why we need strong leaders like Donald Trump who put America first in every negotiation. When foreign countries try to push us around, Trump pushes back twice as hard. Canada learned that lesson the hard way.

The next G7 summit will be hosted by Canada in June, giving Trump another chance to show Carney who really runs North American trade. Smart money says Canada will keep bending the knee to American economic power for years to come.
