Harjinder Singh made an illegal U-turn while driving his big rig truck in Fort Pierce, Florida. His trailer jackknifed and smashed into a minivan, killing all three people inside. Singh is an illegal immigrant from India who snuck across our border in California back in 2018. He was caught by Border Patrol but was allowed to stay in America anyway.
Here’s the outrageous part: California gave this illegal alien a commercial driver’s license. That’s right, a state that calls itself a sanctuary handed a foreign criminal the keys to drive massive trucks on our highways. Singh doesn’t even speak English properly, according to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. How is someone supposed to read road signs and follow traffic laws if they can’t understand our language?
Governor Gavin Newsom’s California has blood on its hands. The state’s dangerous policies let illegal immigrants get driver’s licenses, putting every American family at risk. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem called out this “gut wrenching tragedy” that should never have happened. She’s absolutely right that sanctuary jurisdictions are putting American drivers and passengers in danger every single day.
Governor DeSantis is fighting back against these deadly policies. He said Singh “should have never been in the country in the first place” and called sanctuary policies deadly. DeSantis wants to hold accountable not just the illegal alien but also the trucking company that hired him. Finally, we have leaders who put Americans first instead of coddling foreign criminals.
This is what happens when liberals prioritize illegal immigrants over law-abiding citizens. Sanctuary cities and states protect criminals while American families pay the ultimate price. How many more innocent people have to die before Democrats admit their policies are killing Americans? The blood is on their hands, and they know it.
The Biden administration made things even worse by giving Singh a work permit that Trump had previously denied. So not only was this illegal immigrant allowed to stay in our country, but Biden’s people actually gave him permission to work here. This shows how backwards our immigration system has become under liberal control.
Americans deserve better than politicians who care more about illegal immigrants than our own people. We need to secure our borders, deport criminal aliens, and end sanctuary policies that get Americans killed.
