Facebook, which is now known as Meta, has been added to Russia's list of organizations that it considers to be terrorist or extremist groups.
According to Russian state media outlet Sputnik, on Tuesday the country's Federal Financial Monitoring Service Rosfinmonitoring said that Facebook has been placed to its terrorist list.
As of March, when the tech giant Meta chose to relax its regulations and allow Ukrainians to demand violence against Russian invaders on its social media platform, Russia had already labeled Meta as an extremist organization.
In the course of these appeals for violence, the lives of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko were specifically targeted as targets for assassination.
