Brave survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s horrific crimes stood on the Capitol steps Wednesday demanding justice. Ten courageous women who suffered unthinkable abuse as teenagers faced the cameras to tell their stories. They want the government to stop hiding the truth and release every single Epstein file to the American people.
These survivors are not playing politics or chasing fame. They are real women who endured real trauma at the hands of a monster and his criminal network. One survivor was just 14 years old when Epstein first hurt her. Another woman, a registered Republican, called out President Trump directly for dismissing their pain as a “hoax.”
Republican Rep. Thomas Massie from Kentucky and Democrat Rep. Ro Khanna from California stood with these brave women. This shows that seeking justice for sex trafficking victims should unite all Americans, not divide us along party lines. These lawmakers are pushing legislation to force the Justice Department to release all the hidden Epstein documents.
But Speaker Mike Johnson is reportedly blocking a vote on this transparency bill. Why would any Republican leader want to protect government secrecy when it comes to child sex trafficking? The American people deserve to know the full truth about who was involved in Epstein’s sick crimes.
President Trump made a serious mistake by calling this a “Democrat hoax.” These survivors are not political pawns or fake victims. They are real Americans who suffered terrible abuse and deserve our support, not dismissal. One survivor even invited Trump to meet her face-to-face to see that her trauma is very real.
The survivors revealed that over 1,000 victims were hurt by Epstein and his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell. That means 1,000 American girls and young women were sexually abused by this criminal network. How can our government keep protecting the secrets of dead criminals instead of giving survivors the closure they need?
Epstein died in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial for child sex trafficking. Maxwell was convicted in 2021 and is serving 20 years for helping Epstein abuse underage girls. But the survivors say many powerful people who participated in these crimes are still walking free because the government won’t release the evidence.
Every patriotic American should demand full transparency in the Epstein case. Our government works for us, not for dead criminals and their powerful friends. These brave survivors have suffered enough. They deserve justice, truth, and the full support of every elected official who claims to fight for victims of crime.
