His comments came during media interviews as tensions flared over federal operations and protests in Minnesota, and they should make every law-abiding American take notice rather than swallow political spin.
Bovino made it clear that federal agents will and must arrest people who break the law, including Americans who assault officers or engage in narcotics trafficking or smuggling, stressing that enforcement doesn’t care about political labels or media narratives. “If you assault a federal officer or any law enforcement officer, that’s 18 U.S.C. 111,” he said, bluntly reminding the public that chaos cannot be excused by rhetoric.
Rather than defuse the situation, Minneapolis political leaders and some prosecutors have spent weeks feeding misleading headlines that empower radicals and intimidate honest citizens and police. Bovino welcomed subpoenas and outside scrutiny into whether state and local officials impeded ICE or Border Patrol operations, correctly insisting that no one is above the law and that investigators should follow the facts.
Make no mistake: this is a story about political cowardice. When mayors and attorneys general rush to blame federal officers and handwave away disorder, they are choosing woke theater over the safety of everyday Americans; pundits and partisan journalists who amplify those claims without checking the facts are co-conspirators in the breakdown of order. Patriots should demand accountability: follow the subpoenas, compel testimony, and let investigators expose whether political officials obstructed federal law enforcement or lied to protect a narrative. We must stand with Border Patrol and local officers who do the hard, dangerous work of protecting Americans instead of applauding officials who politicize enforcement and hide behind excuses.
