Bondi Declares DOJ’s End to Weaponization, Comey Indicted

America finally has an Attorney General who says what conservatives have been demanding for years: the weaponization of the federal government is over and the Justice Department will return to its core mission of enforcing the law, not targeting political opponents. Pam Bondi made that declaration plainly on Hannity, promising to restore integrity and one tier of justice for all—words that are long overdue from the nation’s top law officer.

This change in tone from the DOJ came at a consequential moment: the Justice Department recently indicted former FBI Director James Comey on charges relating to false statements and obstruction, a move that illustrates the new leadership’s willingness to hold even powerful insiders accountable. For years the left protected its own and blamed everyone else for the breakdown in trust; an equal application of justice is what will heal that wound.

Unsurprisingly, the left and their media allies have howled that the indictment itself is a political act, claiming this is more “weaponization” in reverse. Conservatives shouldn’t be surprised at the outrage machine—Democrats will always scream when they lose their safe space—but Americans deserve a system that punishes wrongdoing, not one that shields the connected.

Bondi’s promises were not just talk during her confirmation; she laid out Day One directives to end the two-tier justice system and to stop federal prosecutors from substituting personal politics for the rule of law. That kind of clarity from an Attorney General sends a message to career bureaucrats that politics will not be their license to violate Americans’ rights or to pick and choose which laws to enforce.

The new DOJ is already moving on priorities that matter to everyday Americans: protecting communities from violent crime, cracking down on cartels and enforcing immigration laws where state and local officials refuse to act. Bondi has even authorized legal action against sanctuary jurisdictions that put politics ahead of public safety, making clear that federal resources will defend the rule of law, not reward resistance.

Let’s be clear: ending weaponization does not mean lawlessness or vengeance. It means due process, transparency, and accountability at the top of the justice system—principles conservatives have defended for decades. If the DOJ now applies those principles evenly, hardworking Americans can finally trust that no one is above the law and no ideology buys you immunity.

Patriots should watch closely and hold this administration’s Justice Department to its word. The left will try to weaponize outrage and bury the facts in noise, but the American people know the difference between selective enforcement and real justice. It’s time to stand behind leaders who will enforce the law fairly, protect public safety, and restore trust in our institutions.
