Biden’s Head Economic Adviser Is Officially OUT

Brian Deese, the top economic advisor to US President Joe Biden, announced his departure from the White House on Thursday. He has served as the National Economic Council's director since January 2021.

For the last two years, I have been working with Brian Deese to develop a strategy that will allow me to deliver on the many goals that I have for the country. Brian has helped me navigate through the complexity of the economic situation and deliver on the promises that I made to the American people.

"Throughout his time at the White House, Brian has been instrumental in passing several significant economic reforms. Some of these include the American Rescue Act, which helped the US recover from its financial crisis; the Bi-partisan Infrastructure Law; the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIPs), which will help create more high-tech jobs in the country; and the inflation reduction act, which provides relief to millions of families."

Economists warned that the US is already in a recession, and Deese's departure comes as the country faces its first economic crisis since the Great Recession. Despite his role in the White House, Deese maintained that Biden's inflation problem was transitory.

Ron Klain, the White House's chief of staff, also left the administration on Wednesday.
