Biden Will Visit American Oil And Gas Facilities Before Leaving For Saudi Arabia

More than two dozen American energy companies asked President Biden to visit their oil and gas plants on Thursday.

Before visiting Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in July, 26 energy organizations asked President Biden to visit Reynoldsville, Pennsylvania, "the heart" of shale oil and natural gas exploitation. Several groups urged the president to rethink "made-in-America energy."

The groups stated that the U.S. is the world's biggest producer of oil and natural gas and encouraged Biden to promote domestic energy solutions for the American people, the economy, and national security.

“American energy has created millions of good-paying U.S. jobs, worked to shrink our environmental footprint, boosted economic growth, funded conservation in nearly every U.S. county, and transformed entire states,” the groups continued.

The oil industry brags about its "state-of-the-art" refineries that run at "94% capacity" and the Colonial Pipeline, which delivers millions of gallons of petroleum daily from Gulf Coast refineries up the East Coast. Biden will visit pipelines, offshore drilling sites, and refineries to assess the gasoline problem.

Obama demanded oil firms increase production and signaled the Biden administration might curtail offshore drilling to promote his climate goals. The open letter complied.

Jeffrey Eshelman, COO of the Independent Petroleum Association of America, one of 26 groups that signed the letter, said “A visit would provide an opportunity for the President to educate himself about America’s number one energy source and the measures the industry has taken to protect the environment,”

“Administration policies do not recognize that renewable and traditional sources can coexist,” Eshelman continued.

The White House didn't immediately comment to the DCNF.
