James Comer, the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, revealed that four of Joe Biden's family business associates are working with the panel on an investigation into the president and his family.
Comer is currently investigating the Biden family and Joe Biden for various offenses, including wire theft and money laundering. In addition to demanding documents from multiple banks, the investigation also involved the collaboration of the family's business partners.
According to Comer, he is currently in contact with four former associates of the Biden family. These individuals are helping him with his investigation.
According to Comer, the committee was greatly disturbed by the information that was revealed to it by whistleblowers.
Due to the committee's whistleblower status, it was not able to provide details about the identities of the four individuals who are assisting the committee. One of these is Eric Schwerin, the finance lieutenant of Hunter Biden.
A spokesperson for the committee stated in February that Schwerin would be providing documents to the committee in the near future.
Schwerin's collaboration with the committee came about after Hunter planned to deceive him in 2019. According to text messages that were obtained from Hunter's laptop, he was planning on deceiving Schwerin with an off-the-books business arrangement.
The investigation by Comer has started to yield positive results, as evidenced by the disclosure made by the committee in March. It revealed that the Biden family received a $1.4 million share from one of their business partners, who received a $3 million payment from a Chinese firm that was allegedly connected to the Chinese Communist Party.
Last week, Comer told Bloomberg that the Biden family received the money due to the former vice president's actions during his time in office.
According to Comer, there were at least ten transactions that showed that the president's relatives received funds from the Chinese Communist Party.
Emails from the Biden family and their business partners were revealed by the conservative news outlet, which indicated that members of the Biden family were involved in the scheme.
In 2017, Team Biden was set to receive a $12.5 million grant for the establishment of the Biden Center at UD, which officially opened following Joe Biden's departure from office. The deal was reportedly a good one for the Bidens, as the institute's launch resulted in a surge in foreign donations. According to correspondence, the university wanted the former vice president to collect additional funds for the institution after it had debuted.
After the institute's official launch, the university received over $33 million in foreign donations, which included almost $6 million from China. Three out of the donations came from the country's Communist government.
The White House's official spokesperson refused to answer questions regarding the Chinese donations to the Biden family.
