America lost a true patriot today when Charlie Kirk was gunned down at Utah Valley University. The 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA was speaking to students when a coward opened fire. Kirk died from his injuries, leaving behind a grieving wife and a movement that desperately needs leaders like him.
This was not just an attack on one man. This was an attack on every conservative voice in America. Kirk spent his life fighting for our values and teaching young people to love their country. Now he is gone because some sicko could not handle hearing the truth.
The lack of security at this event is absolutely disgraceful. Thousands of people showed up to hear Kirk speak, but there were no metal detectors. Anyone could walk up with a weapon and no one would stop them. This is what happens when we do not take threats against conservatives seriously.
Kirk was one of our brightest stars. He built Turning Point USA from nothing and reached millions of young Americans. He taught them that being conservative is not something to be ashamed of. He showed them how to fight back against the liberal lies they hear every day in school.
President Trump called Kirk “great and legendary” and said no one understood young people better. Trump is right as always. Kirk had a gift for connecting with students who felt lost in our woke education system. He gave them hope and direction when no one else would.
The shooter is still running free while Kirk lies dead. This is unacceptable in America. Law enforcement needs to find this killer and bring him to justice. We cannot let violence against conservatives become the new normal in this country.
