These are not classroom exercises — they are hands-on missions where cadets build, launch, and operate real satellites that serve the nation. That kind of practical training produces disciplined Americans who understand both technology and duty, and it proves once again that when we invest in merit and mission, our sons and daughters answer the call.
The reason this matters is stark: adversaries like China and Russia are actively weaponizing space and testing capabilities to blind and cripple American assets. If left unchecked, those attacks would hit everything from GPS and banking to emergency services and the radar that protects our troops in harm’s way. Our guardians are literally standing between everyday life and strategic chaos.
That is why the recent shift at the Air Force Academy to restore strict merit-based standards and end race- and quota-driven admissions was the right move for national security. We must reward excellence and character, not satisfy woke checkboxes that weaken our fighting force and demoralize the best of America. The brave young people who choose service deserve a system that values skill and sacrifice above identity politics.
Washington’s politicians can posture about virtue signaling while adversaries expand their arsenals, but real leadership means funding the mission and backing the men and women who defend our skies and space. America’s defenders need tools, clarity of purpose, and the freedom to prepare without interference from bureaucrats more interested in optics than outcomes. The choice is simple: support the mission or watch our advantage slip away.
Faith and resolve have always been part of our military tradition, and it was striking to hear cadets speak about conviction and calling alongside their technical training. That blend of spiritual strength and competence is what builds units that will not only defend America but do it with honor. If we want a future where our children inherit safety and liberty, we must defend the moral and practical foundations that made this country strong.
Hardworking Americans should be proud of these guardians and demand more from elected leaders who forget what’s at stake. Pray for our servicemen and women, vote for policymakers who fund defense and reward merit, and keep insisting that American greatness is worth investing in. The sky may be the first frontier, but for patriots it is simply proof that our reach — and our responsibility — extend even further.
