Americans Defy Lockdown Hysteria with Record Holiday Travel Surge

Millions of Americans are piling into cars and boarding planes this Christmas week to be with family, and the numbers are staggering — AAA projects roughly 122.4 million people will travel at least 50 miles from home between December 20 and January 1. That’s a record-breaking surge driven by people who still believe in family, tradition, and the simple comforts of home, not the eternal lockdowns and travel hysteria pushed by the left.

The Transportation Security Administration is bracing for one of the busiest holiday stretches in history, with checkpoint volumes pushing toward the three‑million‑screenings‑a‑day mark that has become a new normal on peak travel dates. Federal agencies can tout preparedness all they want, but hardworking Americans know preparedness looks like reliable staffing, modern equipment, and leadership that respects both security and efficiency — not bureaucratic theater.

Florida — with its warm weather and sun‑soaked beaches — is a top draw this season, and Miami International is swamped as reporters do live crossovers from jammed terminals. It’s no surprise: families are voting with their feet for sunshine and sanity after years of coastal lockdown theater, and our airports are feeling the strain from the sudden rebound.

Make no mistake: most Americans are driving — AAA expects about 109.5 million to hit the roads — but air travel is also at record levels, with more than eight million travelers expected to fly during the year‑end period. Those higher demand numbers mean higher fares and more stress for working families, who already shoulder enough of the burden while Washington squabbles over theater and policy.

With roads and runways packed, weather and delays remain very real threats to plans that matter to people, and the coming days could see cancellations and long waits if officials don’t get a grip. Instead of blaming the season or travelers, our leaders ought to end the bluster, fix broken airport systems, and invest in sensible solutions that actually help Americans move — not more paper‑pushing and virtue signals.

To the families heading home: travel smart, give yourself extra time, and look out for one another. And to those in charge: remember who you serve — the people who work, pray, and sacrifice for this country — and stop treating public service like a reality TV production; show up and deliver real results for the American people.
