America Stands Firm: No More Trade Tricks from China

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent just delivered some hard truths about America’s trade talks with China. The Chinese Communist Party came to the negotiating table with what Bessent called “very aggressive asks.” This is exactly what we expected from a regime that has been ripping off American workers for decades.

Bessent made it crystal clear that America will not sacrifice our national security for any deal. He was talking about TikTok, but this applies to everything China wants from us. We cannot let the Chinese Communist Party spy on our families and steal our data just to make a quick buck.

The trade deficit with China remains a massive problem that hurts every American family. For years, China has dumped cheap goods into our markets while blocking American products from theirs. This unfair system has destroyed American manufacturing jobs and made us dependent on our biggest enemy.

Trade Representative Jamieson Greer laid out what a real deal should look like. We need balanced trade where American farmers and manufacturers can actually sell their products in China. Right now, China keeps our high-quality American goods out while flooding us with their inferior products.

The Chinese have been playing games for too long. They want access to our markets and technology while giving us nothing in return. President Trump understands this better than anyone, which is why he is planning to speak directly with Xi Jinping on Friday.

A good trade deal means China stops cheating and starts buying American products. Our farmers grow the best food in the world, and our factories make the best goods. China should be buying from us, not the other way around.

The Chinese are scared because they know President Trump will not back down like previous weak leaders did. They are making desperate demands because they realize their days of ripping off America are numbered. This administration puts America First, not China.

We must stay strong and demand fairness for American workers and businesses. China needs us more than we need them, and it is time they learned that lesson. No more one-sided deals that hurt hardworking Americans while making Chinese billionaires richer.
