Liberal federal judges are once again blocking President Trump from protecting our borders and keeping Americans safe. These activist judges think they know better than the American people who voted for strong immigration enforcement. Trump won a massive mandate to secure our border and deport criminals, but liberal courts keep getting in the way.
National Border Patrol Council President Paul Perez is absolutely right to call out this judicial activism. Our brave border agents are being attacked and threatened while trying to do their jobs. Meanwhile, liberal judges sit in their ivory towers and block every common-sense immigration policy Trump tries to implement.
The Trump administration has ramped up immigration enforcement with major operations across the country. ICE arrests have more than doubled since Trump took office again. But every time Trump tries to remove dangerous criminals and illegal immigrants, some liberal judge steps in with another injunction.
These same judges blocked Trump’s policies during his first term too. They stopped family detention, undermined asylum reforms, and protected programs like DACA that Obama created illegally. The ACLU and other radical groups keep running to friendly judges who hate Trump more than they love America.
Trump signed the Laken Riley Act and other strong immigration bills to give our enforcement agencies the tools they need. The administration is building massive new detention facilities and working with local police to catch more illegal immigrants. But activist judges keep throwing up roadblocks at every turn.
The Supreme Court now has to step in because lower courts are blocking basic immigration sweeps. These operations are necessary to remove gang members, drug dealers, and other criminals who should not be in our country. But liberal judges care more about protecting illegal immigrants than protecting American citizens.
This is exactly why Trump appointed conservative judges to the Supreme Court and federal courts. We need judges who will follow the law instead of pushing their political agenda. The American people voted for mass deportations and secure borders, not judicial obstruction.
Our immigration system is broken because liberal judges refuse to let Trump fix it. They are putting politics over public safety and American sovereignty. It is time for these activist judges to get out of the way and let our president protect the homeland like he promised.
