Left’s Immigration Outrage Exposed: It’s Politics, Not Principle

We are living in a surreal moment where routine enforcement of immigration law is being painted by the left as “right-wing fascism,” while conservative commentators rightly point out the hypocrisy. As Rob Schmitt observed on his program, Democrats who once embraced tough deportation policies now shriek when Republicans actually carry out the law — a flip-flop that ordinary Americans see for what it is: politics over principle.

Remember, the record shows that Democratic administrations have in fact overseen very high levels of removals in the recent past, a fact the media all too often buries when trying to score political points. Enforcement isn’t some new conservative novelty; it’s a necessary duty of any responsible government, and it’s been carried out by both parties when the political winds demanded it.

Meanwhile, the current enforcement surge — and the resulting deportations — are the response to a crisis of lawlessness at the border that has overwhelmed communities and taxpayers. If removing people who have broken our immigration laws makes Washington leftists faint, maybe they should explain to the families of victims why sanctuary policies were preferable. The federal government must put Americans first and restore order.

That’s what makes the left’s theatrical outrage about “trauma” and “occupation” so transparently political. Democratic officials have publicly equated ICE operations with terror and military occupation while refusing to acknowledge the pain of American families who watch their towns change and crime rise. It’s theater meant to shield open-border allies and score headlines, not sober governance.

If Democrats can defend deportations when it suits them and demonize them when they don’t, then this isn’t about justice — it’s about power. Conservatives aren’t interested in hypocrisy; we’re interested in consistent enforcement of law, protection of taxpayers, and respect for communities that play by the rules. The American people voted for security and order, and lawmakers who pretend otherwise are betraying their constituents.

Patriots shouldn’t be shy about backing tough, fair enforcement that restores hope to struggling neighborhoods and sends a clear message: our borders and our laws matter. Let the political preeners scream; normal Americans want safety, opportunity, and a government that does its job. It’s time to stand with the men and women enforcing the law and demand policies that secure our country for future generations.
