This same faction is now openly pushing to slash funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, weaponizing the appropriations process against the very agents who keep our neighborhoods safe. Using a looming funding deadline as leverage to gut ICE is a cynical political play that would invite chaos on our southern border and reward smugglers and cartels.
The left didn’t stop there: Representative Robin Kelly formally introduced articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem after a tragic incident in Minneapolis, and dozens of House Democrats rushed to sign on. What began as flashpoint politics has become a full-blown campaign to kneecap the administration’s border policy through spectacle rather than evidence or due process.
Let there be no mistake — this is political theater dressed up as accountability. Democrats can play at impeachment all they want, but using a tragedy to score partisan points while refusing to secure the border or support law enforcement is contemptible. Americans want order, not grandstanding; they deserve an administration that defends citizens and upholds the rule of law, not endless hearings and headlines.
Conservative leaders must now double down. Scalise and House Republicans should stand firm against any effort to strip funding from ICE or to let impeachment fever derail the nation’s priorities, and they should use every tool to protect border security and the men and women who enforce our laws.
