President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was exactly the kind of unapologetic alliance Americans want to see: strong, clear, and unafraid to defend our friends. The two men proclaimed a partnership “second to none,” and they left no doubt they are aligned on the urgent threats facing the Middle East.
Trump didn’t hide behind diplomatic euphemisms when it came to Iran — he warned plainly that if Iran rebuilds its nuclear or missile capabilities, the United States and Israel will act decisively and swiftly. This is the posture of a commander-in-chief who understands that deterrence requires credibility, not lecture-hall lectures or appeasement.
When it came to Hamas, Trump’s message was equally unambiguous: disarm or face “horrible” consequences for continuing to harbor terror and violence in Gaza. Those words are the kind of hard truth that international bullies understand, and they defend Israeli lives and American interests without shame.
Netanyahu’s public gratitude toward Trump — including the dramatic announcement that Trump would receive Israel’s highest civilian honor — underscored the tangible results of a U.S. president who stands with allies, not against them. The back-and-forth over a possible pardon for Netanyahu exposed the usual swamp confusion, but it didn’t change the larger fact: American leadership matters in protecting liberty abroad.
The regime in Tehran predictably reacted with threats, promising a harsh response if attacked, which only proves the point: weakness invites aggression, strength preserves peace. The world is safer when the United States and Israel coordinate, gathered around leaders willing to take uncomfortable but necessary action to stop nuclear proliferation.
Conservatives should celebrate this moment, not cower at it. For years the left has preached restraint as virtue while empowering our enemies; President Trump’s willingness to confront threats head-on is the opposite of that failed playbook and exactly what hardworking Americans voted for.
If the media and elites want to whine about posturing, let them — the choice is between hollow words and real security for our citizens and our allies. Patriots know which side to trust: a president who delivers peace through strength and a Prime Minister who does the same for his nation.
Now is the time for Americans to stand with Israel, support decisive leadership, and demand that Washington stop apologizing for defending freedom. Our families, our veterans, and our friends around the world deserve nothing less than leaders who will act, not lecture.
