Carl Higbie Calls Out Leaders for Failing to Combat Islamic Extremism

Enough is enough. After yet another string of senseless killings that have shaken communities at home and abroad, Carl Higbie bluntly points to the obvious common denominator: violent Islamic extremism that refuses to be placated by platitudes and weak policy. Americans who love this country are tired of leaders who shrug while our citizens and allies pay the price.

Higbie is not a talking head with a soapbox; he’s a former Navy SEAL who has spent years sounding the alarm about threats most in Washington still pretend are manageable. Now hosting a national platform on Newsmax, he’s using that platform to demand that patriotic Americans stop being gaslit by elites who insist that restraint and political correctness equal safety.

He’s right to say it’s time to get serious. For years the region has been treated as a puzzle to be negotiated rather than a battlefield to be won, and groups tied to the Islamic State and its imitators have exploited every opening created by half-measures. If we’re honest, containment has failed; it’s time for strategy that reflects American strength, not excuses.

The policy failures are not abstract — they show up in plots and arrests at home and in chronic instability abroad. Recent enforcement actions and warnings from security officials underscore that inspiration from ISIS-style extremism remains a live threat, and yet too many in power would rather posture than prosecute and secure. Americans deserve leaders who will defend them, not lectures about nuance while blood is spilled.

That means hard decisions: secure the borders, crush terror networks where they operate, and make clear that support for jihadist terror will carry serious legal consequences. It also means removing the veneer of political correctness that protects sympathizers and handicaps our law enforcement and military with rules of engagement more suited to think tanks than real warfighters. If Washington won’t lead, citizens must demand a return to common-sense American strength.

Patriots don’t cower in the face of evil, and we don’t ask our troops to fight with one hand tied behind their backs while our politicians hold hearings. Carl Higbie’s message is simple and urgent: stand with our soldiers, back our law enforcement, and stop treating radical Islamist violence as an inconvenient talking point. It’s time to act like we mean to protect the homeland and the brave men and women who defend it.
