Rise of Antisemitism: America Faces a Disturbing New Reality

A new wave of anti-Jewish sentiment is sweeping parts of the country, and the numbers are chilling. Recent research shows that roughly one in five to one in four Americans now endorse antisemitic tropes — a jump that no free society should tolerate or accept. This is not abstract academic talk; it is a real threat to our neighbors, our values, and the stability of our communities.

Jonathan Tobin and other thoughtful conservatives are sounding the alarm about how social media amplifies ancient, evil lies and turns them into modern recruitment tools. Platforms that reward outrage and spectacle have become fertile ground for Nazi-era tropes and Holocaust denial to circulate, normalize, and even attract young people searching for identity. When tech giants value clicks over truth, the result is a poisoned public square that breeds hatred and violence.

This is more than rhetoric; it is an attack on the Judeo-Christian heritage that has long undergirded American liberty and public morality. When antisemitism rises, it is the canary in the coal mine showing that radical ideologies are chipping away at the common beliefs that hold a republic together. We should be frank: allowing bigotry against Jews to fester is tantamount to surrendering the principles of religious liberty, equal protection, and the rule of law that conservatives cherish.

The data is clear about where some of this hostility is taking root: campuses and younger cohorts show worrying levels of agreement with conspiratorial and oppressor-vs.-oppressed narratives. Polls link belief in conspiracies and identity politics directly to acceptance of antisemitic clichés, and that should prompt conservatives to fight ideologies that teach grievance instead of civic virtue. Parents and patriots must demand that schools teach truth, not indoctrination, and that college administrators protect students from intimidation and hate.

Make no mistake: legitimate criticism of any foreign government is distinct from the dehumanizing assaults on Jewish people, and the left’s refusal to call out antisemitism when it suits political ends is complicit. Big tech, activist groups, and some campus leaders have allowed a double standard to emerge — one set of rules for protected ideology and another for the Jews who are the target. It is time for consistent enforcement of speech codes against threats and bigotry, not selective cancel culture that excuses antisemitic harassment.

Conservatives should offer solutions that defend both liberty and safety: enforce hate-crime laws rigorously, hold social platforms accountable for amplifying violent rhetoric, and restore a civic education that honors our shared Judeo-Christian foundations. Lawmakers who preach unity but ignore the spike in anti-Jewish incidents are failing in their most basic duty to protect citizens. Real leadership means protecting the vulnerable, securing public spaces, and pushing back against ideologies that celebrate division.

This is a moment for American patriots to stand firm and stand together with our Jewish neighbors. If we let this hatred grow unchecked, every community will be weakened and every freedom diminished. Roll up your sleeves, speak out against lies, and demand that our institutions defend truth and decency — because the future of the Republic depends on it.
