Liberal Media’s 1984 Gaslighting: The Truth Behind Trump’s Cabinet Meetings

Rob Finnerty nailed it on Wednesday when he called out the liberal media’s relentless effort to rewrite reality around President Trump. Comparing Cabinet meeting counts is not merely pedantry — it exposes how the press decides which events are “real” and which are convenient fiction, even pointing out that one of Joe Biden’s so-called Cabinet meetings was presided over by First Lady Jill Biden. That alone should make any thinking American pause and wonder which narratives the media is manufacturing on purpose.

What we’re witnessing is 1984-style gaslighting, not journalism. The same outlets that treat every photo op and ceremonial ribbon-cutting as weighty national policy will turn around and belittle or erase hours of real governing when a conservative is in charge. It’s an all-too-familiar playbook: inflate the trivial when it helps Democrats, minimize meaningful action when it helps Republicans.

It isn’t enough for the media to count meetings — Americans deserve honesty about content, outcomes, and accountability. President Trump’s meetings, by contrast, have often been career officials and stakeholders hashing out policy that moves the needle for American workers, energy independence, and border security. Yet the narrative machines insist that process and results don’t matter unless they can be framed as a crisis for the left.

This is political theater dressed up as news, and it’s corrosive to self-government. When the press starts arguing over definitions — what constitutes a “Cabinet meeting” or who is “running” the government — they’re distracting citizens from asking the right questions: what was decided, who was held responsible, and how did this serve the nation? The left’s media allies would rather swap reality for spin than let voters judge performance on facts.

Conservatives should not be timid about calling out this deception. Demand raw facts: agendas, attendee lists, memos, and measurable outcomes. If the mainstream media refuses to do basic reporting, grassroots journalists and citizens must fill the gap and force transparency from those who would cloak incompetence in euphemism.

Americans who love liberty know the stakes — a free country dies when institutions lie to its people. Stand with hosts like Finnerty who refuse to let the narrative-industrial complex get away with rewriting history in real time. Hold the media to account, push for real reporting, and keep fighting for a nation where truth matters more than partisan cover-ups.
