Americans are finally watching the Biden-era lawlessness meet a White House that will not look the other way. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt plainly told reporters this week that the administration is moving to cut off the lifelines that sustain Antifa and other left-wing domestic terrorists, and that federal funding to jurisdictions tolerating this anarchy is now on the table. This is the kind of decisive, backbone-first leadership patriotic citizens have been demanding.
President Trump’s September 22 executive order made clear that Antifa will no longer enjoy a free pass to intimidate, assault, and silence Americans; the group was formally designated a domestic terrorist organization and agencies were ordered to investigate and dismantle its funding networks. That policy shift gives federal investigators the authority to follow the money that has been used to bankroll violent disruptions and targeted doxxing of law-abiding citizens. Conservatives should applaud using every legal tool to choke off resources that fuel political violence.
Leavitt also announced concrete steps beyond rhetoric: the president has directed an enforcement surge to Portland to protect ICE facilities and ordered a review of federal aid that could be withheld from cities enabling mobs. Far too many mayors and governors have allowed radical mobs to terrorize neighborhoods while pretending it is “protest.” It’s long past time that federal taxpayer dollars are used as leverage to restore law and order.
For years the left’s enablers — from activist nonprofits to sympathetic local officials — have hidden behind foggy funding streams and legal cover, funneling cash and resources into chaos. Now the administration is looking squarely at those funding sources and sounding a warning shot that financiers of political violence will be exposed and held accountable. If wealthy backers and shadowy foundations are bankrolling riots, every American who pays taxes deserves to know where their money is indirectly being spent.
Make no mistake: this is not an assault on free speech, it is a targeted, lawful offensive against groups that use violence and intimidation to shut down opposing views and undermine our institutions. Conservatives must make clear we defend the Constitution and the right to peaceful protest, but we will never tolerate organized criminality masquerading as activism. The White House is right to prioritize protecting citizens and federal employees from these escalating attacks.
Patriots should demand transparency and follow-through: publish the results of funder investigations, cut off grants where applicable, and force local officials to choose between governing or enabling chaos. Hold elected leaders accountable at the ballot box when they side with rioters instead of police and small businesses.
