Gingrich Exposes Left’s Double Standard on Political Violence

Watching Newt Gingrich lay out the obvious on America Reports was like hearing the truth spoken out loud for once: the violent outbreaks that plagued our cities in 2020 have been shrugged off by the Left as if they somehow “don’t count,” while conservatives who warned about the chaos were demonized. Gingrich reminded viewers that this isn’t random disorder but part of an organized pattern the media refuses to call out, and hardworking Americans are rightly fed up with the double standard.

Gingrich has repeatedly pointed out that our institutions — from newsrooms to universities — have normalized and even excused left-wing violence instead of condemning it, and that normalization has dangerous consequences for public safety and civic order. He’s blunt: groups like Antifa are not a harmless fringe, they have a history and a violent streak that the establishment pretends not to see. Conservative Americans shouldn’t be apologetic about naming the threat and demanding accountability.

This isn’t fearmongering; history backs him up. The United States has endured waves of left-wing political violence before, from Weather Underground bombings in the 1960s and 70s to smaller but lethal incidents since, and dismissing those patterns because they’re politically inconvenient is reckless. If we erase or minimize that history, we doom ourselves to repeat it and allow the same radicals to gain new power under cover of righteousness.

Gingrich also offered practical, if hard-nosed, solutions: law enforcement must be empowered to follow the evidence, charge perpetrators, and restore order rather than tolerate mobs because of political sympathy. His stark line — that the only way to break the cycle is to keep arresting violent actors until the behavior stops — is uncomfortable for the woke elites, but it’s the kind of resolve that protects innocent people and property. Conservatives should demand no less than a government that enforces the law equally, not selectively.

Americans who value liberty and safety should be galvanized, not silenced, by Gingrich’s warning: call out the hypocrisy, hold media and political leaders to account, and insist on policies that put community safety first. The choice is clear — tolerate selective amnesia and watch our streets and institutions be hollowed out, or stand firm for law and order and the principles that made this country great. Our side must stop apologizing and start organizing to protect American lives, speech, and the rule of law.
