Three brave police officers gave their lives Wednesday serving their community in York County, Pennsylvania. Two more officers were shot and remain in the hospital fighting for their lives. These heroes were simply doing their jobs when a coward ambushed them while they served a legal warrant.
The gunman was a monster who dressed in camouflage and hid in a cornfield like the terrorist he was. He opened fire on officers who came to investigate a domestic incident in North Codorus Township. Our brave men and women in blue returned fire and eliminated this threat to our community.
This is what happens every single day across America. Police officers put their lives on the line so families can sleep safely at night. While liberals attack our cops and push to defund police departments, real Americans know the truth about who keeps us safe.
For years, the left has demonized law enforcement and created a culture that treats criminals like victims. Their anti-police rhetoric has real consequences, and those consequences are dead cops and grieving families. This blood is on the hands of every politician who has attacked our police.
The fallen officers were from the Northern York Regional Police Department. The two wounded heroes are York County Sheriff deputies who are fighting for their lives in critical condition. Their community lined the streets Wednesday night to honor these fallen warriors with a solemn procession.
Every American should be outraged by this senseless murder of our protectors. These officers had families waiting at home, children who will never see their dads again, and spouses left to pick up the pieces. We must stand with law enforcement now more than ever.
Governor Josh Shapiro ordered flags to fly at half-staff across Pennsylvania until these heroes are laid to rest. The entire commonwealth is mourning the loss of these good men who died protecting others. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten by those who believe in law and order.
