Stephen Colbert got fired from CBS and now the liberal mob is having a complete meltdown. They cannot handle the fact that a failing show finally got the axe it deserved. This is what happens when you bite the hand that feeds you and lose millions of dollars doing it.
Dave Portnoy from Barstool Sports told the truth that nobody else will say. Colbert’s show was hemorrhaging a massive 40 million dollars every year while only bringing in a fraction of that. Any smart business owner would dump a money-losing operation like that in a heartbeat.
But here come the usual suspects crying about censorship and conspiracy theories. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren are screaming that this is all Trump’s fault somehow. These people live in a fantasy world where everything bad that happens to them is because of the big bad orange man.
The reality is simple and Portnoy nailed it perfectly. Colbert got too arrogant and started publicly trashing his own network on air. He made 16 million dollars a year but somehow thought he could disrespect his bosses and keep his job forever.
This is exactly how capitalism is supposed to work in America. If you lose money and create problems for your company, you get replaced. It does not matter if you are a liberal darling or not.
The funniest part is watching these Democrats demand government investigations into a private business decision. These are the same people who claim to support free markets but then cry when those markets actually function properly.
Colbert had years to fix his ratings and stop the financial bleeding but he chose to focus on Trump-bashing instead. Now he gets to learn what millions of hardworking Americans already know about consequences and accountability.
The liberal media elite thought they were untouchable but reality just came knocking. Maybe next time they will remember that entertaining audiences matters more than pushing political propaganda that nobody wants to watch.
