President Trump is finally doing what no other president had the guts to do. He signed a groundbreaking executive order in May demanding that Americans stop getting ripped off by Big Pharma. While foreign countries pay pennies for the same exact drugs, hardworking Americans have been forced to pay through the nose.
The numbers are absolutely outrageous and should make every patriot furious. Americans make up less than five percent of the world’s population but we pay for 75 percent of all pharmaceutical revenues globally. We are literally subsidizing cheap drugs for the rest of the world while our own citizens choose between medicine and groceries.
Take Ozempic as a perfect example of this scam. The same exact drug made in the same factory costs $1,300 in New York but only $88 in London. That means Americans are paying fifteen times more for identical medicine than people in England get.
HHS Secretary RFK Jr. is now leading the charge to end this highway robbery once and for all. He’s sitting down with pharmaceutical companies and giving them a simple choice. They can cooperate and bring prices down to match what Europeans pay, or face serious consequences from the Trump administration.
The clock is ticking and Big Pharma knows it. Trump has given these companies a deadline to start negotiating fair prices that match what other developed countries pay. If they refuse to play ball, the administration has promised escalating steps to force their hand.
This is exactly the kind of America First policy that Trump promised voters. For decades, politicians from both parties talked tough about drug prices but did nothing because they were owned by pharmaceutical lobbyists. Trump is actually delivering results where others just gave empty speeches.
The deep state and liberal media will probably attack this common sense approach. They would rather protect Big Pharma’s massive profits than help struggling American families afford their medications. But Trump is fighting for the forgotten men and women who built this country.
Americans deserve the same low drug prices that every other country enjoys. It’s time to stop letting foreign nations freeload off American innovation while our own people get gouged. President Trump is once again proving that real leadership means putting America First.
