Today marks 24 years since evil terrorists attacked our great nation on September 11, 2001. Nearly 3,000 innocent Americans lost their lives that terrible day. But we are not just mourning – we are remembering why America will always stand strong against those who want to destroy us.
Families gathered at Ground Zero in New York City to honor their loved ones. The Bell of Hope rang at exactly 8:46 AM, the moment the first plane hit the Twin Towers. President Trump was at the Pentagon, showing real leadership by standing with those who lost everything.
Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance visited Ground Zero for the memorial service. All 2,977 names of the victims were read out loud, just like every year since that dark day. These brave Americans will never be forgotten by true patriots.
The ceremony included six moments of silence to remember each attack. They marked when both towers were hit, when they fell, the Pentagon attack, and when Flight 93 crashed. Each moment reminds us that freedom is not free and must always be defended.
Our first responders ran toward danger while others ran away. Police officers, firefighters, and everyday New Yorkers showed the world what American courage looks like. Many of these heroes are still fighting health problems from breathing toxic air that day.
Twenty-four years later, we must never forget the lessons of 9/11. America learned that evil exists in this world and wants to destroy our way of life. We cannot let our guard down or pretend that bad people will leave us alone if we are nice to them.
The families who lost loved ones that day carry pain that will never go away. But they also carry something else – the knowledge that their family members died as Americans in the greatest country on earth. That means something special that no terrorist can ever take away.
As we remember this solemn day, let us promise to keep America strong and safe. We owe it to those 2,977 souls who were stolen from us. We owe it to the heroes who saved others and to every American who believes in freedom and justice.
