Once again, radical Democrat Ilhan Omar is attacking President Trump for protecting America. This time she’s crying about Trump’s bold strike against a Venezuelan drug boat packed with cocaine. Omar called Trump’s action “lawless and reckless” because she cares more about defending drug dealers than American families.
Trump took decisive action this week when US forces destroyed a boat carrying 11 cartel members and tons of deadly drugs. The boat was in international waters heading toward our shores with poison that kills thousands of Americans every year. But Omar thinks we should have just let them sail right up to our coastline.
The Minnesota congresswoman whined that Congress never declared war on Venezuela or the Tren de Aragua gang. She completely misses the point that these drug cartels are already at war with America. They flood our streets with fentanyl and destroy our communities every single day.
Omar claims there was no legal justification for stopping these drug runners. She wants compelling evidence they were acting in self-defense before we can protect ourselves. This backwards thinking is exactly why Democrats can’t be trusted with national security.
The radical left always finds excuses to criticize Trump when he fights for America. They defended criminals during the riots and now they’re defending drug cartels. Omar would rather see more Americans die from overdoses than support strong border protection.
Trump designated these Venezuelan gangs as terrorist organizations on day one for good reason. Tren de Aragua has invaded American cities and terrorized innocent people. But Omar thinks we should negotiate with these thugs instead of eliminating the threat.
A federal court just blocked Trump from using fast deportations against gang members because liberal judges coddle criminals. They ruled that these gangs haven’t really “invaded” America even though they’re murdering people in our streets. This judicial activism helps cartels more than American citizens.
While Omar complains about international law, real Americans celebrate Trump’s courage to strike back at drug dealers. We need a president who fights cartels instead of making excuses for them. Trump proved once again that he puts America first while Democrats put criminals first.
