New York Attorney General Letitia James just will not quit her relentless attack on President Trump. She filed an appeal Thursday to try to bring back the massive $454 million penalty that an appeals court already threw out. This woman is grasping at straws and wasting everyone’s time.
The appellate court had enough sense to toss out this bogus judgment last month. Five judges could not even agree on whether Trump did anything wrong or if James had the right to bring this case at all. That should tell you everything about how weak this case really was from the start.
The original trial judge, Arthur Engoron, went completely overboard with his ruling. He claimed Trump lied about the size of his penthouse and the value of Mar-a-Lago. But no banks lost money and no victims came forward to complain about being harmed.
This has always been about politics, not justice. James ran for office promising to go after Trump before she even looked at any evidence. She made it clear from day one that she wanted to destroy him no matter what it took.
New York taxpayers are footing the bill for this never-ending witch hunt. James is spending millions of dollars on lawyers and court costs just to settle political scores. Hard-working families are paying for her personal vendetta against our president.
Trump and his family have been dragged through the mud for years over business deals that hurt nobody. These attacks are designed to bankrupt him and keep him from running for office. The deep state will stop at nothing to silence the voice of the American people.
This case shows how our justice system has been turned into a weapon against conservatives. Democrat prosecutors are using the courts to go after their political enemies. This is exactly what happens in third-world countries, not America.
If James gets her way, no successful businessman will be safe from government persecution. Patriots must stand up and fight back against this corruption. Our country depends on stopping these radical prosecutors who hate everything America stands for.
