The numbers don’t lie and they’re absolutely shocking. Minneapolis police ranks crashed from 920 officers in 2019 to just 583 officers by this past March. That’s more than a third of the force gone because liberal politicians chose criminals over cops. Families lost protection while politicians played politics with public safety.
Minneapolis hit rock bottom with only 560 officers last year. That was the lowest staffing in over four decades thanks to Walz and Frey’s war on law enforcement. Meanwhile, the city charter requires at least 713 officers but they haven’t met that basic standard since 2021. This is what happens when leftist ideology trumps common sense.
Traffic enforcement collapsed under their failed leadership too. Police made 82 percent fewer traffic stops last year compared to before the pandemic. Dangerous drivers now roam the streets freely because there aren’t enough cops to keep roads safe. Innocent people pay the price for liberal incompetence.
The George Floyd riots gave these politicians cover to gut police departments. They pandered to far-left activists while honest citizens suffered the consequences. Crime skyrocketed as officers fled departments that no longer supported them. Walz and Frey chose mob rule over law and order.
Now these same failed leaders want to claim victory over tiny improvements. The force barely climbed back over 600 officers for the first time since 2023. That’s still hundreds short of what Minneapolis needs and deserves. Their band-aid solutions can’t fix years of deliberate destruction.
Sheriff Stanek knows what real leadership looks like because he actually protected people. He understands that backing the blue means backing America. Unlike Walz and Frey, he never turned his back on the brave men and women who risk everything for our safety. Real leaders support law enforcement instead of undermining it.
The damage these politicians caused will take years to repair. Families moved away, businesses closed, and good officers found work elsewhere. Walz and Frey should be held accountable for the chaos they created. America needs leaders who stand with cops, not against them.
