A sick killer targeted innocent children at prayer in Minneapolis yesterday. Robin Westman opened fire on kids attending morning Mass at Annunciation Catholic Church. Two children are dead and seventeen more were wounded in this evil attack.
The FBI is now calling this domestic terrorism. They should. This was a deliberate assault on our faith and our children. The 23-year-old shooter fired over 50 rounds through church windows at defenseless worshippers.
An 8-year-old and 10-year-old lost their lives while sitting in the pews. Fourteen other children were rushed to hospitals with gunshot wounds. These babies were just starting their school year when this monster struck.
The shooter was born Robert Westman but had legally changed the name to Robin in 2020. This person had no major criminal history according to police. Yet somehow they still got their hands on multiple weapons to carry out this massacre.
Our churches are under attack in America today. Christians face growing hostility from the radical left. Now our children cannot even pray safely without fear of violence.
Where was the security at this school? Why was it so easy for this killer to approach the building? Our kids deserve protection when they gather to worship God.
This tragedy shows why we need strong law enforcement and armed security at our schools. Prayer alone is not enough when evil people want to hurt our children. We must defend what we hold sacred.
The families in Minneapolis need our prayers tonight. But they also need justice and real action to prevent future attacks. We cannot let the enemies of faith continue terrorizing our communities.
