President Trump is delivering exactly what he promised on crime in Washington DC. His federal takeover has led to over 1,000 arrests in just two weeks and the city has gone 12 straight days without a single homicide. These are real results that speak louder than any political spin from desperate Democrats.
But leave it to the left to try and downplay Trump’s incredible success. Mike Nellis from the laughably named “White Dudes for Harris” group appeared on Jesse Watters Primetime to dismiss the 12-day streak without murders. His pathetic response was that it’s “not the longest streak” as if saving American lives doesn’t matter to these people.
This is exactly why Trump had to step in and take control. Local Democrat leaders like Mayor Bowser have been failing DC residents for years with their soft-on-crime policies. When you have armed National Guard troops patrolling the streets and federal agencies working together, criminals finally face real consequences.
The numbers don’t lie and they terrify Democrats. Over 100 illegal guns have been seized from the streets along with those 1,000 arrests. About 40 percent of those arrested were illegal immigrants, proving once again that Trump’s tough immigration stance directly improves public safety for law-abiding Americans.
Trump also targeted the disastrous cashless bail system that lets dangerous criminals walk free. This failed liberal experiment has been terrorizing DC residents since the 1990s. Now federal prosecutors can charge suspects with federal crimes and keep them locked up where they belong.
The operation called “Making DC Safe and Beautiful” launched on August 7th and the results speak for themselves. Federal agencies like the FBI, US Marshals, ATF and DEA are now working with local police to clean up the mess Democrats created. This is what real leadership looks like in action.
Of course Democrats are panicking because Trump is succeeding where they failed miserably. They would rather see Americans suffer under crime waves than admit their policies don’t work. Their attempts to minimize this success show just how out of touch they are with regular people who want safe streets.
Trump proved that when you get tough on crime and actually enforce the law, criminals get the message fast. Twelve days without a murder in a city plagued by violence is a miracle that only strong conservative leadership could deliver. No wonder the left is so desperate to downplay these amazing results.
