Senator Ted Cruz is absolutely right to call out California Governor Gavin Newsom for his massive hypocrisy on redistricting. While Newsom screams about Texas redrawing its congressional maps, he conveniently ignores how California has been gerrymandering districts for years to benefit Democrats. This is classic liberal double standards at their finest.
The facts are clear and Cruz laid them out perfectly. California currently has a lopsided 43-9 Democratic advantage in congressional seats, which represents 83 percent of their delegation. Meanwhile, Texas has a much more reasonable 24-14 Republican advantage at just 63 percent. Yet somehow Newsom thinks Texas is the problem here.
What makes this even more outrageous is that Texas Democrats literally fled their own state like cowards to avoid doing their jobs. These politicians abandoned the people who elected them and ran away to Democrat-controlled states rather than participate in the democratic process. This is not how grown-ups handle political disagreements.
Newsom had the nerve to introduce something called the Election Rigging Response Act while his own state rigs elections through extreme gerrymandering. The man has zero self-awareness and thinks Americans are too stupid to see through his obvious lies. This kind of political theater is exactly why voters are fed up with career politicians.
Cruz pointed out that crime has already started dropping in Washington DC after President Trump federalized the police there. But Democrats like Newsom are actually angry about reducing crime because it makes Trump look good. They care more about opposing Trump than protecting innocent Americans from criminals.
The liberal media tried to embarrass Cruz by playing loud music over him during his Fox News appearance, but that just shows how desperate they are. When you cannot argue with the facts, you resort to cheap tricks and playground tactics. Cruz kept talking through their games because he knows the truth matters more than their stunts.
This whole redistricting fight proves that Democrats only care about power, not fairness or democracy. When Republicans win elections and redraw maps legally, Democrats cry about voter suppression. When Democrats control the process and create extreme gerrymanders, they call it protecting democracy.
American voters see right through these games and that is why Republicans keep winning elections in states like Texas. While California continues to lose population and congressional seats due to Newsom’s failed policies, Texas keeps growing stronger. The contrast could not be more clear between conservative success and liberal failure.
