Disney Animator Exits the Mouse House for Faith and Family Values

Tom Bancroft spent over a decade making magic at Disney. He brought beloved characters like Mushu the Dragon to life in some of Disney’s biggest hits. But this talented artist walked away from his dream job because something didn’t feel right. His faith and family meant more than climbing the corporate ladder at the House of Mouse.

Bancroft worked on classic Disney films that families loved for generations. He helped create Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, and Aladdin when Disney still made wholesome entertainment. These were the movies that taught kids about courage, love, and doing the right thing. Back then, Disney actually cared about American families and their values.

But things started changing at Disney, and Bancroft could see it coming. The company began putting profits over principles and woke politics over good storytelling. Like many Americans with strong faith, Bancroft felt uneasy about the direction Disney was heading. He knew his Christian values didn’t match what Disney was becoming.

In 2003, Disney made a cold business decision that showed their true colors. They shut down their Florida animation studio and threw 250 hardworking Americans out on the street. These were talented artists who had given years of their lives to make Disney successful. Disney tossed them aside like yesterday’s garbage without a second thought.

Bancroft had already seen enough and was working from home when Disney made this heartless move. He watched his friends and fellow animators get kicked to the curb by corporate executives. This is what happens when big companies care more about their bottom line than their loyal workers. Disney forgot the people who built their empire.

Instead of staying silent or going along with the crowd, Bancroft took action. He teamed up with another animator and started their own company in Tennessee. They moved their families away from Hollywood’s toxic culture to a place where traditional values still matter. Sometimes you have to leave the swamp to find clean water.

Bancroft went on to work with VeggieTales, creating content that actually builds up kids instead of tearing down their morals. He chose projects that align with his Christian faith and help families grow stronger together. While Disney pushes rainbow flags and radical gender ideology, Bancroft creates art that celebrates God and family. That takes real courage in today’s entertainment world.

This story shows what happens when good people stand up for their beliefs. Bancroft could have stayed quiet and collected his Disney paycheck while the company went down the wrong path. Instead, he chose faith over fortune and family over fame. More Americans need to follow his example and stop supporting companies that hate our values.
