Canada just made a terrible mistake that puts our closest ally Israel in danger. Prime Minister Mark Carney announced his country will recognize a Palestinian state this September. This is a huge slap in the face to Israel and America.

Carney is following France and Britain down this dangerous path. These so-called allies are abandoning Israel when it needs support most. They are rewarding the same terrorists who murdered innocent people on October 7th.

President Trump got it exactly right when he said recognizing Palestine would reward Hamas. Why should terrorists get a prize for their evil actions? This sends the wrong message to every terrorist group around the world.

Canada claims Hamas must release hostages and give up power first. But everyone knows the Palestinian Authority has ties to these same terrorists. They pay families of suicide bombers and celebrate attacks on innocent Israelis.

The Palestinian Authority has never kept its promises before. They have broken every peace deal and used aid money to buy weapons. Why would anyone trust them now to hold fair elections or stay peaceful?

This move makes the Middle East more dangerous for everyone. Israel is the only democracy in that region and our strongest ally. When we abandon Israel, we abandon our own values and security.

Real Americans know Israel has the right to defend itself against terrorism. The Jewish state has shown incredible restraint while facing constant rocket attacks and murder attempts. Palestinians chose violence over peace time and time again.

Canada and Europe are making a huge mistake that will cost lives. President Trump stands with Israel and so should every freedom-loving nation. We must never reward terrorism or abandon our friends when they need us most.
