NCAA Rejects Cancel Culture, Stands for Free Speech

The NCAA’s recent decision to stay out of a free speech debate proves something powerful: universities can stand strong against cancel culture. A YouTube video titled The NCAA found nothing wrong with this highlights how some institutions still defend the right to speak freely—even when liberal activists demand silence.

Ben Shapiro’s campus speaking events often spark fiery debates. His outspoken views on politics, culture, and biology trigger fierce pushback from left-leaning students and faculty. But when confronted with demands to shut down his appearances, schools like UNC Greensboro reject censorship and let him speak.

The NCAA’s non-response on this issue shows organizations should focus on sports, not political correctness. Shapiro’s critics falsely label him a “white supremacist” and claim his events spread hate, but the NCAA refuses to play along with this nonsense. Real champions of fairness don’t kneel to mobs demanding censorship.

This victory for free speech comes as no surprise. Shapiro’s Young America’s Foundation events have faced protests, security lockdowns, and even attempts to ban his student hosts. Yet universities with backbone—like UNC Greensboro—defy the anti-speech mob by honoring First Amendment principles.

Liberals cry foul whenever conservatives speak freely, but their tactics backfire. When UNC Greensboro students tried to disband the YAF chapter for quoting Shapiro’s gender comments, the university rejected their demands. The real extremists here are those trying to erase dissenting voices.

Universities should treat all students equally. At Boston University and UC Berkeley, Shapiro faced violent protests and security overkill. These displays reveal the left’s true goal: silence anyone who challenges their ideology. The NCAA must keep steering clear of this partisan drama.

Conservatives must keep pushing back. Shapiro’s message of limited government, personal responsibility, and Judeo-Christian values terrifies the socialist left. By normalizing his campus presence, universities promote real diversity—of thought.

The NCAA’s silence is golden. When radical groups demand censorship, staying neutral is the wisest move. True leadership means upholding free speech, not surrendering to the mob. Let this season remind Americans: our rights are worth fighting for.
