Heavy rains hit Texas hard, causing terrible floods. Many people died, and rescuers are still searching. This disaster happened fast and hit our communities hard.
The Guadalupe River rose an incredible 26 feet in just 45 minutes. Camp Mystic was hit worst – 39 teens and 4 adults swept away. At least 10 young lives were lost to the raging waters.
Texas heroes worked day and night to save survivors. Helicopters pulled people from danger. Louisiana sent rescue teams to help their neighbors. Everybody came together like true Americans.
But some politicians saw this tragedy as a chance to score points. Democrats tried to blame others instead of focusing on help. They wanted to use our pain for their agenda.
Congressman Wesley Hunt wasn’t having it. He stood strong against this shameful politicization. Hunt called out those exploiting our grief while bodies were still missing.
His message was clear: Stop playing games with human suffering. Real leaders put people first, not politics. Hunt showed what true leadership looks like in crisis.
The Astros baseball team stepped up with $1 million for relief. Thousands of rescue workers kept battling the floods. Texans don’t wait for permission to help each other.
We must stand united against disaster, not divided by politics. Hunt’s courage reminds us what matters most – saving lives and rebuilding communities. That’s the Texas way.
