Mitch McConnell, the Senate majority leader from Kentucky, criticized President Biden's judicial nominee after the nominee failed to answer some of the basic questions during a hearing.
Charnel Bjelkengren, a Superior Court judge in Spokane, was nominated by Biden to be the next US District Judge for Washington's Eastern District. During her hearing, Louisiana Senator John Kennedy asked her what Article V of the Constitution means. Bjelkengren said that it was not on her mind at the moment.

In response, the Senate majority leader praised the nominee, noting that he was similar to Amy Coney Barrett, who was a Supreme Court Justice.
Senator Kennedy's initial question was brought up by Mitch.
"After the hearing, McConnell criticized the judge for failing to answer the senator's questions about Article V. He noted that she also did not bring up the topic of Article II."
"After she failed to answer a couple of questions about legal philosophy, the Senate majority leader criticized her. He also noted that she could not provide a list of the top 10 cases that she had handled in court."
