In his invitation, McCarthy noted that the president's speech would help the new Congress address the concerns of the American people.
A spokesperson for the White House confirmed on Friday that Biden accepted McCarthy's invite to deliver the speech.

Jean-Pierre confirmed Biden's acceptance of McCarthy's invitation and noted that the president looks forward to discussing with members of the new Congress how they can work together to improve the country's competitiveness and economy.
For the first time, Biden will be accompanied by a Republican when he delivers the speech to the members of the House and Senate.
