Moore to the Point: The Finish Line

We are seeing a lot of polling figures, the most of which are favourable to Republican candidates with little over three weeks remaining before the election. This makes perfect sense considering the circumstances: a midterm election is taking place, Democrats control the president and both chambers of Congress, and the economy is in fairly bad shape overall. On the front of international relations, things aren't exactly looking up, either.

The most compelling argument that the Democrats seem to have going for them – or, at the very least, the one that they have chosen to campaign on – is that Republicans are "extremists" who want to overthrow democracy and make abortion illegal in all cases. I've got some bad news for the Democrats, though: Because the Republican Party has long been known as the party that supports the right to life, a charge that they are "pro-life" no longer carries the same weight as their supporters seem to believe it does.

And as for the desire to subvert democracy, please remind me which party has advocated, among other things, cutting money for the police, doing away with the filibuster, abolishing the Electoral College, allowing non-citizens to vote, stifling free speech, and stacking the Supreme Court.

To our disadvantage, it is the Democrats, who are actually the progressives, who are always pushing for significant changes in both our way of life and our form of government. These changes would be detrimental to us. On November 8th, voters will likely give them a loud NO, contrary to what the polls and other signs suggest would happen.
