During her interview with comedian Seth Meyers on Monday evening, Vice President Kamala Harris gave the impression that she refrained from going as far as to state that the care of children ought to be the job of the federal government.
Harris appeared on the NBC show "Late Night with Seth Meyers" as a guest, and at one point during the discussion, she claimed that the government needed to address climate change if they were serious about focusing the children. Meyers was one of the hosts of the show.

Using a circular sweep of her arms, Harris added, Genuinely, whenever you, you know, when you look at our kids, and I truly think that they're our children.
The next part of what she said was as follows: They are the children of our country, of our neighborhoods, I mean, our future is very bright if we prioritize them, and thus prioritize the climate catastrophe and the need to address it.
In her interview with Meyers, Harris, who was appointed shortly after President Joe Biden's inauguration to lead the administration's efforts in combating illegal immigration, attacked Republican governors like Ron DeSantis of Florida and Greg Abbott of Texas for attempting to take matters into their own hands.

Harris stated, We're talking about people who have fled severe harm, who have fled big harm. We're talking about people who have fled significant injury." They are making their way here in the hope of finding refuge. And talk about political theater; by that I mean playing games with the lives of other people; with their lives. Those buses are being alighted by women who are carrying sleeping infants in their arms. And I just believe it's a complete disregard for one's responsibilities.
Harris stated that Republican governors who brought migrants to self-described sanctuary towns were negligent in their own responsibilities when they did so by transporting the migrants by bus or plane.
Harris voiced his displeasure by stating, If you're a leader, participate in a solution.
During Harris' recent interview on NBC's "Meet the Press," Chuck Todd mentioned that two million people are expected to enter the United States' border this year alone, citing numbers from the most recent year.
Todd pushed back when Harris insisted that the southern border was "secure." Harris was responding to Todd's assertions. "For the very first time in human history, we're going to see two million individuals cross this border. Are you certain that this border is protected from illegal entry?"

Harris diverted attention by placing the blame for the border situation squarely on former President Donald Trump before shifting gears to suggest that immigration reform would be possible if Republican governors would refrain from "playing politics."
