Evidently, the fearless leftist media mob has scored another victory. Yes, you are correct in saying that. Because of an event they utilized to push their everyone is racist narrative, our beloved social justice warrior types have helped advance the cause of true equality for racial minorities by having Rosita, a Sesame Street character, canceled.
You may remember that in July, a controversy occurred after a video surfaced showing a Rosita impersonator seemingly ignoring a pair of black youngsters while performing at Sesame Place, a theme park based on the show "Sesame Street."
After the video went viral, woke people went ballistic, accusing the actor playing the character of being a racist who ignored black kids on purpose. It was too good of an opportunity for progressives to pass up, so the charges persisted even after further photographs emerged showing the character socializing with other black children. The kids' parents have filed a $25 million lawsuit against the amusement park, because, why not? It seems that racial grifting can bring in a lot of money these days.
After all the commotion, the Daily Mail reports that Rosita has vanished without a trace.
The two girls may be seen interacting with Racist Rosita, a character on Sesame Street who was initially developed to encourage cultural diversity. The actress was seen wagging her finger at the girls before reportedly embracing the young white girl next to them.
According to the Daily Mail, several buildings with the costume character's face on them have apparently stayed shuttered since the incident in July, with staff claiming she has been 'cancelled.
According to a member of the parks' staff, Rosita has been taken off the parade totally since the racist charges, and [n]one of the character's walk the street in the procession any more, as well as any meet and greets for her having been canceled.
The employee explained that this was done because of the accusations, they don't want someone hopefully making the same claims. Basically, Rosita has been canceled, and I don't expect to see her again any time soon.
The park seems to have wiped the slate clean of any reference to the troubled puppet, though, so it's not just the figure that's being axed. 'The Rosita restaurant has been shut for the last few weeks,' another worker at the park informed us.
It's unclear why, but employees suspect the allegations may be to blame.
The Daily Mail reports that other depictions of the character have been concealed by the park, with Rosita and Big Bird both covered with a big purple structure and that stores selling Sesame Street memorabilia also appeared to have removed items portraying the character or had less out on show.
Rosita, the tiny girl, is in such a bind. To win back the respect of the awakened masses, diversity training and some Ibram X. Kendi might be in order. But one thing appears certain at this time: the park is frightened of another frivolous lawsuit, so kids won't get to engage with their favorite Sesame Street characters. This is why I say the left is the root of all evil.
