California Governor Gavin Newsom is livid about the criticism he's receiving due to the state's energy grid problems. He decided to try and counter Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' comments about the state on CNBC. Unfortunately, it didn't go well for him.
Gavin Newsom, who is the Democratic governor of California, is defending the state's energy situation. Despite the state's current energy issues, it was able to avoid rolling blackouts.
According to the Daily Wire, California was able to avoid rolling blackouts during the heat wave that hit the state. The governor also defended the state's energy situation, saying that it could still maintain its power supply.
During the heatwave that hit California earlier this month, the state's electricity demand reached a record 52,000 megawatts. According to Newsom, the state's efforts to switch to clean energy have helped boost the electric grid's capacity by 4,000 megawatts.
The media, he claimed, wanted to kill off California's efforts to transition to a clean energy future by intentionally cutting off electricity during the heatwave.
Last week, Governor DeSantis of Florida criticized California's electricity grid problems. He said that the state could not keep up with its growing demand.
“I hear a lot of people chirping about Florida from California. They’re so worried about Florida. They can’t even keep the power on in California, are you kidding me?” — @RonDeSantisFL 🫢🔥 pic.twitter.com/xpo9jR4fZt

Despite the governor's claims, everybody in California saw the notice that asked the residents to reduce their energy usage by not charging their electric cars and other power-consuming activities past 4 pm. If the state really wants to encourage people to drive electric cars by 2035, it should immediately address its energy problems.
