The policy of open borders advocated by Joe Biden has contributed to the escalation of a crisis to an unprecedented level. It's possible that you are unaware of this since the leftist media is spreading false information about it. However, from the year 2021, millions of undocumented immigrants have surged into this country. And Biden has not taken any action to rectify the situation.
In point of fact, we are aware of two primary reasons why Democrats support illegal immigration. One, they rely on the votes of illegal immigrants during elections (which begs the question: why else do they reject voter ID?) And secondly, because businesses that support Democrats hire undocumented immigrants to do low-wage work, which causes American workers to lose their jobs.
However, it does not appear that the majority of Americans agree. In addition, a recent survey completely debunks the left's arguments.
Even at the risk of higher inflation, the majority of United States citizens do not agree with the demands of corporations for increased labor from both legal and illegal immigrants.
According to a survey conducted by YouGov.com between July 20-22, an overwhelming majority of American adults believe that businesses should raise pay and try harder to attract Americans even if it causes the pricing of their products to rise. This figure represents more than a 2:1 margin.
The survey asked one thousand people: "What do you think businesses should do when they indicate they are having problems recruiting Americans to take employment in construction, manufacturing, hospitality, and other service work?"
Only 22 percent of respondents agreed with the pro-immigration viewpoint, which asserted that firms "should recruit foreign employees to help keep business costs and prices down." [Source: Breitbart]
How pitiful is that? YouGov attempted to convince Americans that allowing immigrants to take American jobs would be beneficial to the economy by claiming that it would "lower inflation."
You are aware of what brings down inflation, right? An administration that isn't completely clueless about what it's supposed to be doing!
But Americans weren't taken in. They expressed a strong desire for American workers to be hired first by businesses, followed by those from other countries (legal or otherwise). Only 22% of respondents were in favor of additional immigrants competing for jobs in the United States, while 50% were opposed.
You have to question who made up that 22% of the population. Who among the white-collar workforce doesn't feel like they could be next to lose their jobs? Think again. The H-1B visa program is widely considered to be a Democratic and corporate America's dirty little secret. It gives businesses the ability to hire temporary workers, particularly white-collar workers, from other countries. After forcing Americans to teach illegal aliens in the skills necessary for employment, businesses then ship the aliens back to their native countries (such as India or China) where they take jobs with them.
Companies like Facebook and Apple favor the left for this reason because Democrats have promised to extend this scheme and have already done so, which will result in more Americans losing their jobs, even college grads.
However, it is significantly simpler for businesses to hire immigrants when they enter the country illegally. The middle class and blue collar workers in the United States have been put at a disadvantage as a result of this system for many years. And the corrupt leaders of unions have attempted to make it possible for illegal immigrants to join unions, making it so that Americans have an even smaller voice in their own country.
Democrats have asserted that the topic of the border will not have an effect on the outcome of this election. The results of this survey indicate otherwise. Even when the left attempted to put the odds in its favor, it was still unsuccessful.
