Gallup poll: President Joe Biden's average approval rating for his sixth quarter is 40%.
This is the lowest sixth-quarter average for a first-term president and follows a July Gallup poll showing Biden's approval at 38%. Only 31% of independents approve of Biden's term, the lowest on record, while his 78% approval among Democrats is equal for his lowest.
50% of Democrat voters would choose someone other than Biden in 2024, according to a USA TODAY/Suffolk University survey.
According to Gallup, only President George H. W. Bush made major gains in the seventh quarter.
Gallup reports that Biden's approval among Republicans is 5%, similar to opposition-party approval for Obama and Trump. 87% of Republicans, 43% of independents, and 6% of Democrats disapprove of Biden's term.
Joe Biden’s approval rating just hit 38%, a new low. Look at the poll questions and results yourself. The most popular president in American voting history appears to have lost many of his supporters. https://t.co/vjQguO4z0N

Gallup found that 69% of respondents disapproved of Biden's tenure. Gallup doesn't regularly question about intensity, but 87 percent is an opposition party's highest "strongly disapprove" rating on record.
Gallup found that 83% of Democrats disapproved of Trump, whereas 81% disapproved of George W. Bush. Republican dislike of Obama peaked at 75%.
Gallup noted that the topic of intensity was only asked six times during Trump's tenure and four times during Obama's first term, thus it is "unclear if a party group has ever held more strongly negative opinions of a president than Republicans now do of Biden.."
Clifton Heard, 44, who voted for Biden in 2020, told The New York Times, "I understand they have a tough job." "He wasn’t prepared for the job"
Gallup surveyed 1,013 adults in all 50 states and DC, with a margin of error of 4%.
