Gorka Declares War on Fake News Amid Trump’s Yemen Strikes

Sebastian Gorka, a top counterterrorism official in the Trump administration, slammed mainstream media outlets for spreading “fake news” while defending President Trump’s recent military strikes against Houthi rebels in Yemen. Appearing on Newsmax’s “Sunday Agenda,” Gorka praised the aggressive action taken to protect American interests and secure global trade routes.

Gorka highlighted that U.S. forces had been attacked over 100 times by Iran-backed Houthis in the past year and a half. He credited Trump’s decisive strikes with reopening critical Red Sea shipping lanes, which he said were “vital for our economy and national security.” The military operation reportedly killed at least 31 Houthi fighters and destroyed missile systems used to target commercial vessels.

The former deputy assistant to Trump criticized “fake news” outlets for downplaying Houthi aggression and misrepresenting administration policies. Gorka accused mainstream media of pushing narratives that endanger Americans by ignoring threats from radical groups. He emphasized that Trump’s policies prioritize citizen safety over political correctness.

President Trump personally monitored the Yemen strikes from the White House, vowing to continue attacks until Houthi forces stop threatening global shipping. In a Truth Social post, Trump warned Iran to immediately cease support for the rebels, threatening severe consequences if compliance isn’t met. The strikes mark the largest U.S. military action since Trump returned to office.

Gorka connected the Yemen operation to domestic border policies, asserting Trump’s legal authority to deport illegal immigrants. He argued that just as the military protects sea lanes, the administration will secure national borders against what he called “criminal invaders” exploiting lax enforcement.

The counterterrorism advisor noted that Houthi attacks had disrupted 66% of Red Sea shipping traffic since 2023, costing billions in economic losses. He framed the military response as necessary to prevent further damage to U.S. commercial interests and maintain America’s position as a global trade leader.

While previous administrations failed to deter Houthi aggression, Gorka expressed confidence in Trump’s “overwhelming lethal force” approach. He suggested the current campaign could last weeks, aiming to permanently degrade rebel capabilities rather than temporary containment.

The strikes serve as warning to all hostile nations, according to Gorka. He emphasized that Trump’s administration won’t tolerate threats against American assets or citizens, whether from Middle Eastern militants or domestic political opponents.

Gorka concluded that Trump’s actions demonstrate renewed American strength after what he called the “weakness” of previous leadership. He urged patriots to reject media misinformation and support policies prioritizing national security over globalist agendas.
