House Censures Democrat Al Green for Outburst Against Trump

House Republicans took action to censure Texas Democrat Al Green after he shouted down President Donald Trump during a speech to Congress. The vote was 224-198, with ten Democrats joining Republicans to punish Green for his outburst. This shows even some in his own party agreed he crossed a line.

Green disrupted Trump’s address by yelling about Medicaid cuts, waving his cane, and refusing to sit down. Speaker Mike Johnson had him removed by security. Trump later mocked Green as a “low IQ” lawmaker unfit for office.

Democrats made a scene after the vote. They surrounded Green, sang “We Shall Overcome,” and ignored orders to stop. Johnson had to pause the session. Republicans called this behavior childish and chaotic. They accused Democrats of playing politics instead of respecting rules.

Some Democrats argued Republicans weren’t punished for past outbursts, like heckling President Biden. But conservatives fired back, saying rules matter. Ten Democrats broke ranks to support the censure, proving Green’s actions were too extreme.

This mess shows Washington’s double standards. Republicans enforce order while Democrats protest and play victims. Green’s stunt embarrassed his party, and even his allies couldn’t defend it. Americans deserve leaders who act like adults, not troublemakers.
